Ancient City of Pinara
Πίναρα
Legend places the founding of Pinara on a high hill of Mount Kragos, and Lycian inscriptions spell its name Pinale. Strabo lists it among the six cities that cast three votes in the Lycian League assembly. The town has two parts, a round Upper Acropolis and a more easily reached Lower Acropolis. Rock tombs crowd the steep eastern face of the upper one; an odeon, agora, bath and theatre also survive.
